DARKEST ERA ble stiftet i 2005, og på den tiden var musikken deres hovedsakelig basert på kombinasjonen av irsk folkemusikk og metal. Senere, i 2007, ble Black- og Doom Metal mer og mer infiltrert i musikken deres, og gav dem en helt ny sound.
 Jeg føler jeg blir litt glad inni meg når jeg hører denne musikken, da den gir assosiasjoner til både Vintersorg og Bathory, men med en keltisk klang i stedet for nordisk.

Vokalisten Dwayne «Krum» Maguire synger med ren vokal, men instrumentalt blir musikken nærmest som ”majestetisk” Black Metal, fremdeles med enkelte mellompartier av keltiske toner. God- låten på denne ep’en må være «Visions Of the Dawn», etterfulgt av «On the Crest of Doom».

DARKEST ERA were started in 2005, and at that time, their music was mainly based on the combination of Irish folk music and metal. Later, in 2007, black- and doom metal was incorporated more and more into their music, giving them a whole new sound. I feel a little happy on the inside when I hear this music, as it gives me associations to both Vintersorg and Bathory, but with a celtic sound rather than a nordic sound.

The singer, Dwayne “Krum” Maguire sings with clean vocals, but instrumentally, the music can best be described as “majestic” black metal, with some celtic sounding interludes. The best song on this EP has to be “Visions Of The Dawn”, with “On The Crest Of Doom” as a solid runner-up.
